Editorial Policy

The rules we hold ourselves to — independence, accuracy, updates and corrections.

Independence

Our recommendations are made on the merits — movement, specs, buyer fit and the price you’d pay today — and never in exchange for payment, products or placement. We accept no sponsored posts and no paid rankings. When a product link earns us a commission, that fact never changes whether or how we recommend the product; the reasoning is identical whether a link pays us or not. The full detail is on our affiliate disclosure page.

Accuracy and no fabrication

Every factual claim traces to a real source — a manufacturer spec, a published standard, or the live price layer. We do not invent specifications, prices, ratings or review counts, and we do not publish testimonials or “in our testing” claims, because we don’t run a test lab. Where a maker doesn’t publish a figure, we print “Not published” rather than guessing. Our full process is on the methodology page.

How and when we update

Prices refresh automatically every day and carry an “as of” date; if a price can’t be verified, we show “Check price” instead of a number. We review each roundup on a rolling schedule — re-confirming that picks are still sold, re-checking specs, and updating the “last updated” date only when we’ve genuinely reviewed the page, never to fake freshness.

Corrections

We fix errors promptly. If you spot a spec, a movement or a claim that doesn’t match its source, let us know— we check it against the source, and if you’re right we correct it and, where the error was material, note that we did.

Authorship

Articles are written by a named human author, Stephen V., positioned honestly as an enthusiast — not a watchmaker, and with no invented credentials. Nothing on the site is professional watchmaking or repair advice; for a service or a fault, see a qualified watchmaker.
